On Friday 8th September Morocco was struck by the strongest earthquake on record for over a century. Hitting the High Atlas mountains, around 70 kilometres southwest of Marrakesh, the 6.8 magnitude quake has killed over 3000 people and impacted the lives of over 300,000 more.

As a way to raise funds for families and communities impacted by the disaster, we’ve rallied friends together for ‘Tadamoun: A Compilation for Moroccan Earthquake Relief’.

Compiled in collaboration with Geneva-based DJ and producer Reda Saiarh, the release features 24 tracks contributed by artists from across Europe, including Anatolian Weapons, Romain FX, Justine Forever, Cornelius Doctor, Zaatar and more. Musically it travels across many sounds and styles too, from ambient electronica, trip hop and leftfield bass to chugging Italo, jackin’ new beat and trippy techno.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between two charities who are helping to raise money for those affected and to rebuild communities that have been devastated: Atlas Kinder, a charity who supports abandoned children in Morocco, and Insaf, a non-profit organisation that protects and supports women and children.

DJ, producer and compilation curator Reda Saiarh: “‘Tadamoun’ means Solidarity in Arabic - my mother instantly suggested this word as the title of the release. Following the events [in Morocco], I wanted to help in a way that brought many talents and friends together. Artists from different countries around the world showed their appreciation to Morocco and its population in a moment of communion. In response to tragedy, music is the answer - I encourage you to help and share by purchasing this various artists' compilation. A list of charities is available for anyone who wants to donate or help directly, and we also suggest you listen to other compilations that are helping the same cause including these from Astro Fever International and ZNZL.

I'm really thankful to all the artists on the compilation for contributing their brilliant music for such a great cause. It means a lot to make a fusion of worldwide artists and especially friends, including the Hard Fist Crew, Neskeh and Romain FX, as well as Rosie for her outstanding coordination behind the scenes. My sister has also been really involved, collecting donations and resources for families who are affected. This was a family affair from the beginning - thanks to Ransom Note for making it happen!”
